Market Analysis Brief: Brighton Natural Health Centre
Brighton Natural Health Centre (BNHC) is seeking a business development/marketing specialist to conduct a piece of market analysis.
The Brighton Natural Health Centre is a charity founded in 1981. At our centre in the North Laine you can do activities to support your health and mental wellbeing. We offer: yoga, dance, pilates, meditation, tai chi, movement for health and more. We also arrange talks and workshops and deliver a community programme including classes for migrant refugees and low cost community classes.
The centre is currently facing significant financial challenges due to the impact of Covid-19, having been required to close our venue twice in 2020, and migrate our operation and activities online.
The purpose of this piece of work is to provide insights and recommendations about the market within which BNHC operates, and the potential to reposition to reach new markets. This work will highlight the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats with regard to the market, and deliver recommendations about possible options for medium to long-term business planning. Analysis and recommendations for short terms business decisions to maximise profitability related to the market are also required.
Expertise and deliverables
Proven ability to research and analyse local markets is vital. Expertise and knowledge of the local leisure market economy, health and social care landscape, and the CSR landscape in the Brighton and Hove area is an advantage. We are also interested to hear about potential market opportunities further afield and online.
The main deliverable is a market analysis report with recommendations regarding both B2C and B2B (including Employee Assistance Programmes and CSR) markets. This should include an industry outlook/SWOT analysis, competitive analysis, and customer/market analysis.
As an outcome of this work, the BNHC team would like to have a better understanding of:
● Who are our potential customers in relation to the product/skills we have to offer?
● What are their needs/desires in relation to our offer?
● How many of them are there?
● How much will they pay?
● Who is the competition?
● What are the key opportunities to make business decisions around?
This is a short piece of work that is required urgently, to be delivered by mid-January 2021.
We envisage 3 days’ work will be required to fulfil this brief, to include research, production and presentation of a report to the Trustees.
We are a charity and have a modest budget available for this initial piece of work, with the possibility for extension and further work in the coming months.
