covid-19 policy

Your health & well-being is our priority.

We have spent a great deal of time preparing for re-opening so that we can return to our wonderful live classes. We have made important changes to how the centre will operate in order to ensure your safety and wellbeing at all times. We ask you to please cooperate in these difficult times. Thank you.

*** Please do not come to the Centre if you have a cough or a cold, a raised temperature, loss of smell or taste, or if you feel unwell. ***

Booking & Payments

  • Please book your class online at least 30 minutes before the class start time.
  • Early booking is recommended – there will be limited capacity in classes which may vary depending on the class to ensure 2 metre distancing between each person during the class.
  • You can book online via our website, or download the MindBody app and search for ‘The Brighton Natural Health Centre’.
  • If you choose to purchase anything (e.g yoga mats for sale) at the Centre, we will be operating a ‘no cash’ policy for the time-being.
  • Contactless payment is preferred.

Hygiene/Cleaning: our procedures

  • BNHC will be deep cleaned after the last class every day.
  • Our studios and all touch points will be cleaned between classes.
  • Windows and doors will be kept open during classes to allow the best possible ventilation.
  • A dehumidifier/air purifier will be used between classes to help clean the air and decrease the risk of airborne pathogens.
  • No props or equipment will be available for use at BNHC for the time-being.
  • We will take the temperature of all visitors to the Centre on arrival using a contactless device.
  • Reception staff will work behind a screen and teachers and staff will wear a mask/face covering when moving around the building but not in class.

Hygiene/Cleaning: what we ask of you

  • Please wear a mask/face covering on arrival and in all communal spaces until you enter the studio.
  • Masks/face coverings are not recommended during exercise classes unless on the advice of a doctor. Please let your teacher know before class if you have received such advice.
  • Please use hand sanitiser; as soon as you have entered the building; before you go to the toilet or upstairs; any time you leave the studio e.g. to go to the toilet; and on leaving BNHC.
  • Always wash your hands for at least 20 seconds before and after using the toilet.
  • Hand-sanitiser stations will be available in reception and inside and outside the studios.
  • Students who use public transport should keep their exercise clothes protected.

Social Distancing: our procedures

  • There will be at least 30 minutes between classes to allow for cleaning and to avoid crowding/queues.
  • Standing/mat placement spots will be marked clearly in the studio to ensure safe distancing is upheld.
  • Staff and teachers will remind you to maintain distance in classes and in communal areas.
  • Directions will be clearly marked around the building.
  • There will be no contact between students and teachers in class i.e no hands-on adjustments.

Social Distancing: what we ask of you

  • Please maintain safe distancing at all times. This is 2 metres between people wherever possible, at least one metre where not.
  • Wherever possible, keep your distance from filled studio mat/standing places and do not move around the studio space unnecessarily.
  • Do not wait around after class or stop for conversations in communal spaces.
  • Do not queue for the toilet, but wait in reception with safe distancing. Only one toilet will be available for use.

Contact tracing

Updated info 21/07: If we receive information that someone with a confirmed case of Covid-19 has been to the Centre and joined a class, we will participate in contact tracing and will provide NHS Test and Trace with data if requested. This means…

  • We encourage you to check and update your current home phone number and/or mobile number on booking.
  • We will check that you have provided these details on arrival. Please let us know if you wish to opt out.
  • You may be contacted by NHS test and trace if our records show that you have been in class with someone who has a confirmed case of COVID-19 and you have not opted out.
